Steve and Apple pushing for DRM free music

In this column on Steve Jobs makes it abundantly clear than he and Apple would openly welcome the abolishing of DRM in favour of completely DRM free music on iTunes and everywhere else.

He is sending a very strong message to the music labels and is really putting Apple in a great position. Surely with this kind of pressure and the very valid points Steve brings up, the music companies can’t keep DRM for much longer.

I hope they don’t and come to the realisation that DRM doesn’t make any difference to music piracy.
